Telespazio Ibérica will expand the telecommunications Network for Gestamp Renewables, providing a new private satellite network for control and monitoring of two new solar photovoltaic plants operated by Gestamp, and located in southern Peru.
The project involves the supply of remote stations on each plant, installing them and setting up a closed and dedicated network via satellite for the control and management of the telemetry of the plants. In this way the plants are integrated with Gestamp communications network, and from their data center Gestamp can manage the remote equipments, extracting information in real time, or giving communications services for local staff (such as Internet access, telephony , etc.).
The Project Manager at Gestamp project, Federico Gonzalez, says that “it is necessary to maintain constant communication in real time with plants, both to extract information from power generation and status of our systems, and to facilitate the work of staff on site. Telespazio’s proposal meets the design requirements and the availability of the network required in facilities like ours. ”
The stations were installed in late 2012 and the network is 100% completed since February 2013.
