Telespazio Ibérica, as partner of e-GEOS consortium, has been awarded by
European Union Satellite Center (SatCen) the 7.5 million euro Framework Contract for
the supply of the Copernicus Service in Support to EU External Action Geospatial Production (SEA).
Through this service, the Consortium will assist SatCen to support the European
Union in its security operations outside EU territory, providing decision makers with geoinformation
on remote, difficult to access critical areas, where security issues are at
stake. Copernicus SEA will also assist third countries in situation of crisis or emerging
crisis, aiming to prevent global and trans-regional threats having a destabilizing effect.
To grant the large satellite imagery 24/7 production capacity required by the contract,
e-GEOS will lead a European consortium including GAF and Telespazio Ibérica -both
part of Telespazio Group, a subsidiary of Leonardo-, Airbus DS, GMV, IABG and SIRS.
Through this participation, together with its Consortium partners, in such a demanding
and challenging project, Telespazio Ibérica is strengthening its role as a Copernicus
Services provider and therefore, its growing relevance in the Spanish Geoinformation
Massimo Comparini, Director of the GeoInformation line of business within
