2016. Spaceopal and GSA Sign the Galileo Service Operator Contract


Spaceopal, joint venture between Telespazio group and the German Space Agency (DLR GfR), has been awarded by the GSA (European GNSS Agency) with the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp) contract. It has been a long tendering process that began in January 2015. The contract, with a value of up to 1.5 billion Euro, has been signed last 15th of December in a special event that took place in Brussels where EC, GSA and ESA participated. The service will start from January 2017.

2016. SAR4ip, a Telespazio Iberica and e-Geos project, wins the Radical Innovation Award 2016


2016 Telespazio Innovation Awards have reached their twelfth edition. Winners were announced past 8th of November identifying three winning proposals and two special mentions selected among 18 different projects. These 18 ones have been sixteen Italian ones (Telespazio SpA and e-GEOS), a German one (Telespazio VEGA Deutschland), and an inter-company one produced by a collaboration between Telespazio Ibérica and e-Geos.

Awards are divided in three thematic categories: Incremental Innovation, Radical Innovation and Idea.

2016. Ground settlement study at Port de Barcelona using COSMO-SkyMed images.

Telespazio Ibérica performed a ground settlement study of the land reclaimed to the sea at Port de Barcelona (Muelle de la Energía) for ENAGAS using PSP-IFSAR techniques on satellite SAR images (Synthetic Aperture Radar) from COSMO-SkyMed constellation.

The study, using images acquired during a period from 2011 to 2014, made possible to identify a dense point cloud and their individual movement with an accuracy of less than one centimeter.
