Scanzano Space Centre, which came into operation in 1989, is located near the artificial lake bearing the same name, about 47 kilometres from Palermo.

The Scanzano Space Center  covers about 65,000 sq.m. and has 28 operational antennas, the circular horizon of which ensures wide-angle visibility of the geo-stationary orbit arc, with a minimum elevation of 6°.

In addition, the site’s position ensures excellent natural protection against electromagnetic interference.

Scanzano is located in the centre of the Mediterranean, in a privileged geographical area that makes it possible to manage communication services from Africa to the Far East.

The Scanzano Space Centre is involved in managing plants and services for satellite links in the telecommunications sector, as well as in the satellite navigation and remote sensing fields.
