Carlos Fernández de la Peña joins Telespazio Ibérica
as CEO to lead its expansion and transformation plan

Telespazio Group, a world leader in the aerospace sector specialized in services based on geoinformation, satellite communications and operation of space systems, has hired Carlos Fernández de la Peña as CEO of its Spanish subsidiary, Telespazio Iberica, to lead and promote its expansion and transformation plan in full boom of the space economy.

The new CEO will work closely with his predecessor in the position, Miguel Bermudo, now director of strategy of Telespazio Iberica, to promote and accelerate the strategic and growth commitment of Iberia as part of the Group's business plan, both in its satellite-based solutions and in new observation technologies based on unmanned aerial vehicles.

 

Carlos Fernández de la Peña – graduated in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and PDG from the University of Navarra-IESE – has more than 25 years of international experience in Management, strategy and business development, a trajectory that has always orbited around technology and the space sector. As an example, he was a member of the founding team of the company Deimos, which launched the first two commercial Earth observation satellites in Spain, or  the growth and consolidation of business from his previous position at Open Cosmos.  "I am very happy to join a great group to lead an exciting growth project, with a clear commitment to develop new services and capabilities" says Carlos Fernández

 

Telespazio Ibérica employs more than 100 people in Spain, participating in contracts of high strategic value such as the operations of the European satellite navigation systems, Galileo and EGNOS, or the service of Copernicus emergencies that society contributes such incalculably in crises such as the volcano of La Palma.
